What got you interested in the Hospitality industry and what motivates you?

My father always wanted me to work in hospitality to gain different life experiences. A friend of our family owned a bar and I had the opportunity to work there when I was 20 years old. I stayed in hospitality for close to 4 years, learning the ropes. It also gave me the opportunity to meet new people when I travelled.

I left hospitality to follow another passion, but returned 8 years later as I realised hospitality was where I belong.

I find myself constantly motivated by the excitement, atmosphere and how fun it can be. A big one for me is the connections you make with people – both staff and guests, and also creating great memories and experiences.

What are you most excited about bringing to SoCal?

I’m excited to bring a new kind of energy to SoCal, and a much larger agave focus.

We have just have introduced agave flights that I’ve been working on for a while, and they’ve been getting a great response.

There’s a lot more in the works, but you’ll just have to wait and find out!

What sparked your interest for agave?

I’ve always liked tequila. I would always have a shot with my first drink whenever I went out. However, like most I never really understood it.

When I was living in Chicago a few years ago, and I had a friend introduce me to the idea of sipping tequila. From there I went on to work in a well-known Mexican restaurant in Toronto with an extensive agave selection. I was exposed to new brands and began to understand both tequila and mezcal better.  It was around this time I also took a trip to Jalisco (where most of the world’s tequila comes from) which really cemented my love for agave.

What’s your go-to drink at SoCal?

A mezcal Tommy’s Marg is always my go-to cocktail and we do a great one at SoCal.
Our Salted Caramel Espresso Martini is also pretty wild.
